DEWITT YOUTH CHEER
The DeWitt Youth Cheer Program provides a safe, structured and empowering athletic experience for community youth in PreK through 8th grade across the DeWitt community. Our program is designed to build confidence, discipline, teamwork, leadership and community spirit, while ensuring that every participant; regardless of age, background or skill level; has access to high‑quality youth development opportunities.
Program Overview
The DeWitt Youth Cheer Program offers a comprehensive cheer experience that includes:
Sideline cheer for both Flag Football (PreK–2nd) and Tackle Football (3rd–8th)
Basketball cheer during winter months
Skill‑based instruction in motions, jumps, chants, dance, flexibility, and age‑appropriate stunting
Leadership development, teamwork building, and character education
Community engagement through local parades, service activities, and school‑spirit events
Our program ensures that every child receives positive mentorship, consistent coaching, and a safe environment to grow both athletically and personally.
Program Structure
The program is divided into age‑appropriate squads:
PreK–2nd: Introductory cheer fundamentals, movement, rhythm, sideline cheer for Flag Football, beginner jumps, chants and routines.
3rd–6th Grade: Sideline cheer for Tackle Football, stunt readiness, advanced motions, performance routines, leadership roles, advanced skills and mentorship of younger squads
All cheerleaders participate in:
Weekly practices
Game‑day performances
Monthly team‑building activities
Community parades (ARCO Parade & Christmas Parade)
One day cheer camp and skill clinics
